Revel in the recount of an extraordinary kite safari as Global Kite Trips proudly unfolded the third edition of the Colombia Safari. Our initial destination, Salinas Del Ray, also known as Santa Veronica, provided the perfect launchpad. With vast space, consistent mid to strong winds, and numerous downwinder options, it stood as an ideal starting point. Nestled in the comfort of Kite Eco House, our exceptionally cozy beds and strategic location, just a short stroll from kite spots and delectable restaurants, seamlessly blended relaxation and excitement.

Daily yoga sessions, tailored to kiteboarding needs by our expert Sandra, enhanced flexibility and inner peace.

Welcoming butter-flat water, strong winds, and turquoise seas, this paradise on earth, located on the native land of the Wayuu tribe, offered all and only the essentials.

Riders of all levels, from advanced beginners to intermediate and beyond, converged to learn higher jumps, master Darkslides, execute Hangdrags, and even attempt carrying a friend on their back for a quick ride.

Tawi Kite Center, our simple yet strategically located accommodation, offered a tranquil environment with solar electricity, replacing the usual city-center generator hum for a peaceful night’s sleep.

The perfect combination of restful sleep, daily yoga, and video analysis fostered swift and secure progress.

Indulge in the abundance of fresh fish and lobsters for pescatarians, a few vegetarian options, and a taste of goat for meat lovers, a common choice in this dry land due to its scarcity of red meat.

Exploring Punta Guallinas is a no-brainer for enthusiasts seeking unique kiteboarding locations. The two-and-a-half-hour drive from Cabo De La Vela unfolds an awe-inspiring journey, weaving through cactuses with no clear indications of the path to take.

Venturing to the dunes on the first afternoon, we surfed waves and relished the sunset, a quick and exhilarating twenty-minute drive from our residence.

Everyone loved the two days of butter flat water at the spot next to the hostel and not to forget the breath taking downwinder! A two hours experience ending at a restaurant next to the ocean. Fresh seafood, cold beverages and hamacs where perfect to end our last kite session.

Before bidding adieu, our final stop in Palomino offered comfortable beds, hot showers, a beachside happy hour, and a delicious dinner, concluding our unforgettable kite safari on a high note.
